Competitive comparisonNine platforms were reviewed from their own public pages on 6 October 2026. This page sets out what each one is genuinely best at, and the work the buyer is still left holding. We have tried to be fair to all of them — including about the things they do better than us.
Read down the final column: each platform above solves discovery, communication or delivery, then hands the comparison work back to you.
| Platform | Strongest at | What the buyer still does themselves |
|---|---|---|
| Alibaba.com | Unmatched marketplace breadth, listed MOQs, Trade Assurance and real transaction protection | Compares offers that are not on the same basis, and works out the all-in cost across suppliers |
| Global Sources | Asian supplier network and an extensive Hong Kong trade-show footprint | Chases the follow-up. MATCH is a human team, not a workflow that can be inspected or audited |
| Made-in-China.com | China category depth, with SGS, Bureau Veritas and TÜV Rheinland audits on premium suppliers | Audits cover premium suppliers only; normalising quotes and costing the order remains manual |
| DHgate | Price-led browsing, buyer protection and fast purchase paths | Everything sourcing-related — it is built for buying rather than for a sourcing decision |
| IndiaMART | India directory breadth, TrustSEAL verification and AI visual search | Posting a requirement is a gated lead step, not a transparent supplier evaluation |
| Accio (Alibaba) | A broad agentic workspace with Alibaba ecosystem access and public plan pricing | Judges the sources. Sourcing competes with every other agent task, and no verification method is published |
| Sourcy | Managed end-to-end delivery, with named case studies and 4,000+ products launched | Sees the logic. Matching, pricing and cost assumptions are not publicly inspectable, and no fee is published |
| SourceReady | The closest AI challenger on idea → RFQ → quote comparison, with a free tier and public pricing | Verifies the method. Assumptions, coverage and the approval boundary need proof, and its own coverage figures disagree |
| SourcingGPT | Evidence-linked shortlists, quotes normalised to one basis, editable landed cost, approval-controlled RFQ and an exportable audit trail | Chooses. Everything before that is drafted, costed and logged, with what we could not check left visible. |
It is not a claim that these platforms are weak. Alibaba's breadth and transaction protection are genuinely better than anything we offer today, and the same is true of Made-in-China's audit coverage.
Every platform above stops at discovery, communication or a managed service. None publishes a shareable, field-level comparison with quote provenance, missing-data flags and revision control.
Supply breadth, listing liquidity, escrow, payment protection and named public customer proof. If those are your deciding factors, use a marketplace and bring us the quotes to compare.
SourcingGPT is the buyer-controlled sourcing decision workspace that turns a product brief into evidence-linked supplier options, approval-ready RFQs, normalised commercial quotes and editable landed-cost scenarios — so your team can choose, explain and approve a supplier before committing.
Each one is a buyer need that the public evidence does not show any of the nine solving completely. These are the ones we are building against.
For every shortlisted supplier: the original source, the date, the legal entity evidence, what was checked, what is missing and how confident the match is. Marketplaces foreground labels and rankings. Made-in-China limits its own guarantees even while offering audits, and IndiaMART's TrustSEAL is documentary verification.
Currency, unit basis, MOQ, tooling and sample charges, packaging, spec version, lead time, payment schedule, Incoterm, validity and exclusions — normalised, with revision history kept. Every marketplace gives listings, messages or RFQs and leaves the apples-to-apples work with the buyer. SourceReady and Sourcy claim comparison; neither publicly demonstrates a shareable, field-level version.
Explicit quantity, origin and destination, HS-code confidence, Incoterm, freight mode, duty and tax assumptions, and currency timing — with ranges rather than a single false number. The five marketplaces do not publicly evidence an all-in cross-supplier model. SourceReady advertises estimated landed costs; neither it nor SourcingGPT currently exposes the method, inputs or source dates.
Brief to RFQ, recipients selected, each outbound approved, follow-ups tracked, replies preserved with translations, deviations identified — and a record of who approved what, and when. The marketplaces provide communication paths but not a cross-channel audit trail. Accio is permissions-oriented but not sourcing-specific, and Sourcy's steps happen behind a managed service.
Plainly: what the software checked, what it did not, which protection applies, who carries the risk, and how inspection, payment and disputes are handled. Marketplace protections are partial and platform-bound rather than a blanket quality guarantee. SourcingGPT is not an escrow, broker or trade-assurance service, and says so.
Every supplier on your shortlist carries its source, the date we saw it, what was checked against records we can see, and what is still unknown. We would rather show you a gap than a green tick you cannot trace.
MOQ, unit basis, tooling, sampling, Incoterm, lead time, payment terms and exclusions, normalised into a single table. Every cell traces back to the quote or message it came from, and revisions are kept.
Recipients, drafts, sends, replies and every commercial change are logged against your decision. Nothing reaches a supplier without your sign-off, and you can export the trail.
Evidence from the marketplaces you already use, direct factories and your incumbent suppliers all lands in the same comparison. We are not trying to replace Alibaba's catalogue — we are the layer that turns it into a decision.
SourcingGPT is an information and workflow tool. We do not hold your money, we are not a broker, and we do not guarantee quality, delivery or compliance. You should know exactly which risks are ours, which are the supplier's and which are yours.
Bring one live product and see what comes back: an evidenced shortlist, normalised quotes and a landed cost you can defend.
